This week I put a hydrating mask in my hair, sat under the dryer with it, then I did my eyebrows and then I painted my nails for the first time in two years.
Yes, two years.
I write songs on my guitar, so I always keep my nails extremely short and I got tired of painting them but I have them painted pink right now and it’s bringing my lots of joy.
The day after I did those things, I felt so light and loved.
It’s easy to skip past those little things because they take time.
Like the hydrating hair mask, for example, that whole process took me two hours.
But now my hair looks and feels and smells INCREDIBLE. I can’t remember the last time my hair looked this healthy. My curls are thriving.
Self care resets your energy regardless of what’s going on in your life.
I often write about the importance of caring for our internal universe and I think we’ve got to put that energy into the outside too.
Everyone cares for their body in a different way.
How do you like to care for your body?
Do that!
That’s my message this week, that’s it!
Go do something nice for yourself today.
Eat something delicious or do a sweaty workout or dance with reckless abandon in your kitchen or take a walk in nature or do your hair.
Anything.
That’s all this week friends.
I really wanted to reminded you guys because it had been awhile since I stopped to give myself some extra love.
When we make the time to fill our love tanks, it’s so much easier to love those around us and help them fill up their love tanks as well.
Don't run on empty.
Fill your cup.
