Blooming Season Family!
I hope you all are taking care of yourselves during the final quarter of 2020.
As I write this, we are all currently waiting for every vote to be counted, to see who the President of the United States will be and it has been an interesting time to say the least.
Since I believe in God, I am not petrified during this time because I know that God has a plan beyond our human comprehension but I definitely have some concerns that I would love to share with you all, respectfully.
When Donald Trump became the president in 2016, I was extremely disappointed and I will tell you why.
I am the type of person that listens to the words that flow from a persons mouth, knowing that these words flow from their heart, I observe how a person carries themselves, how a person treats others and I was not a fan of what I was hearing or seeing from Trump, from the very beginning.
It all seemed racially charged, divisive and provoking.
On paper, he is a Christian yet his character has yet to show me the fruit of the spirit of God, which is love.
Are any politicians perfect?
No.
Are any governments perfect?
Absolutely not.
They are all far from perfect because human beings are all imperfect.
But kindness, inclusivity, self control, gentleness are some of the attributes that I like to see in a leader.
A leader can present their resume and list policies that 'sound nice' but if they do not actively show me their capability to lead, they will lose their job very soon.
Under every leader, regardless of the setting, we are able to see their fruits, whether they are good fruits, bad fruits or no fruits at all.
Over the past four years the white supremacists in this country have felt free to come out from hiding because they feel supported by Donald Trump.
That does not sit right with me.
That has been the fruit of his presidency.
We are able to see the clear racism in the hearts of many Americans.
Many people choose to turn a blind eye to Trump’s destructive character because they benefit from him, financially, one way or another but I cannot ignore injustice.
I cannot ignore a leader not being able to denounce white supremacy regardless of how much money he promises to give.
I cannot ignore a leader that does not lead, in my opinion.
Cleary, I am not a Trump supporter.
But do I hate him?
No.
I pray that God gives him wisdom and that God blesses his family.
He is God's child just like me and just like you.
But I disagree with his leadership and his policies 100%
Does God have a purpose with Trump being the current president of this country?
Yes.
Do I know what it is?
No.
But I can tell you my opinion.
It seems as though, God used Trump to show America’s true colors.
A country founded on murder, greed and slavery.
A country founded on injustice and racism.
A country that never repented for it's sins but simply covered up its truth and continued living as if nothing happened.
This is America’s history and just like any wound that is not properly healed, it will continue to bleed and we are bleeding as a nation.
There are many good things about this country, I'm not trashing it.
America is unique in its ability to offer more opportunities for success.
This is why most immigrants come here.
In my family, I am part of the first generation to be born in the United States and I am grateful for the opportunities that have been extended to me by being here.
But that does not mean that I will neglect the ugly roots that are sticking out of the ground.
It is because I love this country that I am brutally honest about its true condition.
Do I believe that there is one God sent candidate that will heal this nation of all its trouble?
No.
God already came to earth in the form of Jesus, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Nothing or no one besides Jesus can save America or its inhabitants.
I believe that with all my heart.
That being said, I still exercised my right to vote and I voted for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because through the way they have carried themselves, I see kindness, I see inclusivity and I see unity.
Since I love Jesus, you may be confused and say, “Don’t you know that they support abortion?” + “don’t you know that they support the LGBTQ community?”
Yes, I know.
My response to that, is this :
God, himself, gives every single human being free will, so who am I to tell people what they must do?
The message of Jesus Christ cannot be centered around who is wrong and who is right.
I am not a judge.
I am human just like them.
I am not called to point fingers.
My command from God is not to dictate the lives of others.
My command from God is to love them.
So, I vote for the party that offers free will, includes all people, while I do my job, which is love all people.
Do I hate trump supporters?
Absolutely not.
I am a firm believer in the fact that love transcends politics.
I have many family members, that I love with all my heart and soul, who firmly support Trump and I have learned to respect their thought process.
We do not all think the same but we are all loved by the same God.
Dear God,
Thank you for being who you are.
Thank you for being King over all of the earth.
Thank you for being in supreme control regardless of who will be the president of the United States.
In this moment, I present every heart that is reading this blog post, if they are feeling anxious or stressful about the condition of this country, I ask you Lord, that you give them a peace beyond understanding and an assurance that you are in power over all earthy powers.
Jesus, I want to present the white supremacists that are infected with the disease of racism.
My Lord, I ask that you reveal your love to them and I ask that you guide us in wisdom in regards to how to interact with them, if we ever come in contact with them, may we be examples of your love.
I also present all of your believers to you, including myself.
We are not wiser than you.
We do not know better than you.
So, regardless of who you allow to be the president of the United States for the next four years, remind all of us that you have a purpose and a plan beyond our understanding.
Help us focus our eyes on your reign, on your love, on your instruction, so we may be able to be a positive influence to our earthly government.
Remind us that with every smile to a stranger, with every act of kindness, with every act of love towards our neighbors, we are helping this world, this country, this government to be a better place.
Remind us, my God, that we are here to love you and to love all people.
Continue guiding us all on this journey.
Continue teaching us all how to have
uncomfortable/challenging conversations with one another, with your tone of love and understanding.
We need more awareness of you Jesus.
I need more awareness of you Jesus.
You are in total control and in this truth, we rest.
In your powerful name, I pray, Amen.
