Blooming Season Family!
I hope you’re all having a good day.
I want to share something a bit different on today’s blog.
One activity that helps me express my thoughts, understand my feelings and release my creative energy at the same time is poetry.
I thought I’d share all the poems I wrote this week.
Hopefully you’ll be inspired to write some of your own.
It’s important to invest some time each day to do something that allows your inner child to explore and wander, especially with the kind of year it’s been.
So, here's my mind at play, with a pen and a page.
#1
the sky is dimming
it’s a faded blue
the apartment is quiet
i can hear the passing sirens
the muffled lives seeping quietly through the walls
we’re all on the same globe
a floating ball in space
that will never not be insane
now the sky is gray
it’s pouring rain
i’m grateful to be safe under a roof
i am blessed
God is good
this is proof
#2
some nights it’s like I can almost reach it
like i’m awake and dreaming
some nights i can almost see it
a higher place
the space beyond space
where it’s Holy
where the angels sing
some nights their echos ring inside my ear
some nights my heart longs for this location that is not located on any map
some nights it’s like the part of me that will someday sing along to the songs in the angel’s choir, reaches back
some nights it feels like that
it’s an ache
it’s a weight
some nights I wish I could live forever
some nights I can’t wait to fly in the space beyond space
to see God’s face
to be held in that embrace
some nights it’s like the silence gives me a taste
#3
dreaming of new york
the buildings
the trees
the lights
the people
the streets
the noise at night
like a lullaby reminding you that you’re alive
#4
there’s beauty in the pouring rain
it falls without warning
covering everything left uncovered
feeding the trees
meeting the needs of the earth
chasing the heat
leaving fresh breeze in return for its disruption
leaving a piece of heavenly peace
with the chorus sound of a billion rain drops
crashing on everything in it’s way
there’s beauty in the pouring rain
#5
do you love yourself?
what have you done to prove it?
love is more than words
what have you been doing?
#6
the power’s in the mind
what I hold inside is mine
every picture comes to life with time
decide to go past the ceilings you’ve created
there’s room in the sky
be elevated
focus your concentration
activate it
occupy the space between your ears
redirect it to heaven
let God inject it
with love
