I want to find a way to stress the fact that when we withhold that in which we were born to release into the world, it turns into poisen and we live our lives dying slowly under it's effect.
It is not until we begin to release our stories, talents, gifts, visions and ideas that we begin to come alive.
I was a depressed child, a depressed teenager and I was depressed in my early 20s because I was not releasing the fullness of my being.
I had not completely grasped this truth until not too long ago.
Recently, this truth has marinated deep into my subconscious, like the seasoning in a turkey after being in the oven for a few hours on Thanksgiving day.
I’m no longer depressed which is awesome and I haven’t been for a few years now. I started releasing my creative energy and I feel the high that comes from doing so but I am still holding onto some parts of me.
I did not let go all at once. I’m working on it.
It’s like the water pressure from the shower.
Personally, I turn the shower on slowly because the water is still cold, so there isn’t much water being released at first but after a minute the water gets warmer and I crank it all the way up.
Full release.
I’ve been warming up for a long time. I’ve gotten real comfortable in the warm up stage but just like a shower, if you’re in there for too long, the hot water begins to run out and turns cold once again.
Regardless of how long we try to hang onto comfort, it will eventually become uncomfortable because we are not on earth for the sole purpose of sitting comfortably in comfortable spaces while feeling safe and comfy.
We are here, on earth, with a mission to release what has been poured into us from heaven.
Today’s conversation is a continuation from last week because this has been heavy on my heart these days. Last week I talked to you guys about giving birth to who you are.
Today we’re discussing the reality of what happens when you choose to withhold who you are or even some parts of who you are.
Poison begins to fill us up, drop by drop, every single time we suppress a part of ourselves.
Every time we push an idea to the side, every time we swallow words instead of sharing them, every time we remain seated when the music calls us to dance.
Every time we step on our own soul, a drop of poisen falls into it and it may not seem like a big deal because it’s only one drop but as time goes on it can kill you from the inside out.
This year has been showing me that I was still, unconsciously, withholding parts of myself and I have been working towards releasing all of those parts now.
What have you been withholding? What area of your personality have you been withholding? What idea have you been withholding? Is there something that you’ve been wanting to say? Is there a dance that you’ve been wanting to do? Some part of yourself that you've been wanting to explore?
Let’s remember that every single time we withhold a part of ourselves, that energy converts itself into poisen and it pollutes our soul.
This week I had an incredible creative experience that reminded me that I must make it a priority to release my creative energy on a daily basis.
I cannot be passive with this mission of releasing the fullness of who I am.
I cannot sit and wait to feel inspired before I take action.
I must designate a specific time every single day to release melodies, words, dance, ideas and the parts of who I am that I have suppressed due to my own lack of faith.
I must take the time to sit still with my whole being available, open and ready to catch my lightning in a bottle.
When we intentionally take the time for this release, it communicates to the heavens that we the have faith that the lightning will strike.
This lightening that I’m speaking of is the unique package of gifts, talents and visions within each one of us.
We must sit with these gifts, create a storm and wait expectantly for God to send the lightning.
If we do not believe that the lightning will strike or if we are not prioritizing it, taking time to work towards it, the lightening will strike and we will hear it from afar.
Someone else will catch it and we will miss it.
Miss what?
The song, the revelation, the life changing idea, the vision, the creativity, the newness, etc. I see all of those things as if they were strikes of lightning, they strike quickly, in a flash, in a moment and we must be prepared.
Prepared like how?
Prepared with enough stamina to run all the way to home base when it strikes, to throw ourselves like a baseball player throws himself onto home base to catch the winning ball and last but not least we must have faith that the lightning will strike and that we are ready for it.
You are here, on earth, because you have storms brewing within your soul, the rain is coming and you must release those showers so they can water your portion of the earth.
There’s lightning inside of you my friend, powers, gifts and a unique personality.
Do us all a favor and work towards releasing it.
All of it.
I’ll be doing the same.
This way, we can avoid the poison from withholding.
