Art and literature have both had a profound impact in my life. With each book or film, it felt as though I was being lifted into a higher place and I want to share them with you.
Let's start with movies :

This movie is based on a true story about a women who goes on a journey of self discovery. As I watched this film I felt as though I was finding myself as well. This film contains vital life lessons and beautiful scenery from Italy, India and Bali.
I had to watch this movie about 5 times before I completely understood it but when I understood it? I was blown away and forever changed. After you watch this, you will want to dive deeper into the corner's of your mind and explore it in ways you have never thought of before.
Life is too short to hold grudges, to not do the things you absolutely love, to not take risks and enjoy your time here regardless of your situation. After I watch this movie, I feel as though I have been given permission to live life as BOLD as I can.
Now, let's take a look at the books
"If your daily life seems poor, do not blame it; blame yourself, tell yourself that you are not poet enough to call forth its riches; for to the creator there is no poverty and no poor indifferent place"
This book introduced me to an exercise that helped change my negative mindset into a more positive one. It's called "Morning Pages" You buy a notebook and each day before you wake up, you write 3 pages of whatever words first come to mind. For me, this exposed the toxic thought pattern in my subconscious and I was then able to take steps to change it - There are many other exercises for healing and growth in this book.
If you have ever wanted more information about the spiritual practice called fasting? This is the best book. The author uses her personal experience and direct examples from the Bible that will help you make fasting part of your life. (Fasting has changed my entire life. Blog on my fasting journey, coming soon!)
Osho is a wonderful communicator/writer and his words in this book inspire the creative within you. I read this book a few years ago and it helped me gain a new perspective in a dark time.
I love this book so much because it helped me understand the science behind my toxic thoughts and emotions. It really helped me understand that I am capable of being in control over all thoughts and emotions. It not only informs you but it provides many tools that can be applied for lasting change. A game changer.
In a world where most people tell you why something is impossible or how you shouldn't try something because of how difficult it may be, this book encourages you to go after your vision with full force. It also explores, in depth, reasons why you may have come to believe that an abundant fulfilled life is impossible to attain. Then, it provides tools that help shift that mindset.
Reading this book was like getting yelled at by someone who is fully aware of the potential you hold within. If you are completely depleted, knocked down or stuck? This book with wake you, shake you and push you out into the world to do what you have to do.
Wayne W. Dyer is the author. If you are interested in an intense self analysis, being confronted and challenged to become your best self? This book a great tool that will assist you on that journey.
This book contains a testimony from a man who went from being in jail to a best selling author with an incredibly positive mind. His story brought tears to my ears and hope to my heart. If you're looking for a good story? This is it. His book "Prison to Praise" is just as good as well. Powerful!
This is a review of the book from the back cover :
"A.W. Tozer discusses the attributes of God in words that go straight to the heart in this superb aid to strenghthening and deepening the spiritual life"
There is so much power in what we choose to read, watch or listen to.
